The food is amazing, the fish market as a appetizers or main courses are the best I've ever tried, the romain salad is From another world, and the lobster pasta, is incredible
This food was fantastic, for me fancy dinners with my family are the most amazing meals. Avra has a great location and luxurious feel with wonderful decor and outdoor view. The service was great and the waitress was super kind in assisting us with certain dishes she recommended. It was overall very very yummy and worth it.
Excellent service and food! Sat at the bar since I was alone. Bartenders were on point and are a big reason why I will be back soon.
Avra, located in the luxurious Aqualina Estates in Sunny Isles, offers a remarkable dining experience with a focus on traditional Greek cuisine. The ambiance is stunning, featuring elegant interiors, pool, and beach views from the outdoor patio, making it an ideal spot for date nights, family dinners, and special occasions. The menu is praised for its fresh seafood, with standout dishes like branzino, octopus, and Portuguese sardines. Diners also enjoy the Mediterranean appetizers and delectable desserts. The Miami Spice menu is a popular choice, offering a variety of delicious options. Service quality can vary, with some patrons noting exceptional attention and accommodation, while others experienced less satisfactory interactions with servers. Despite this, the overall experience is often redeemed by the beautiful setting and the quality of the food. Avra's atmosphere, combined with its high-end fine dining and breathtaking scenery, positions it as one of the most beautiful restaurants in South Florida. The restaurant maintains the quality and consistency of its New York City predecessors, making it a top choice for those seeking refined Greek cuisine in a picturesque location.
This was an incredible dinner ,ambiance and fresh fish ! Better than NYC ! Highly recommend the branzino and the octopus which was fresh and amazingly delightful. The scenery and setting breathtaking !
The food is good, the ambiance beautiful, but the service leaves a bit to be desired. Our server was very grouchy and kept trying to push us toward more expensive items, more expensive wine and even switched an app to a much more expensive entree. I called the manager the day after when I took a closer look at the bill and she was able to adjust for the sneaky upcharges. Took forever to get our wine. The food was delicious, everything from the zucchini and eggplant chips to the fish, but the prices are a bit outrageous. You're paying for the location after all. I did not like the baklava for dessert, it was tough as a rock (not soft and flaky like it should be) and did not taste like any baklava I've ever had. All in all, we probably would have had a much nicer experience here if it hadn't been for our unpleasant waiter. It was three of us (elegantly dressed middle aged ladies celebrating our friend's 50th birthday) and he single handedly ruined the mood and the evening for us. What a shame.
AVRA's relatively new Miami location maintains the quality and consistency of its NYC predecessors. The space is gorgeous and classy. It lends itself well to date night and family dinners alike with a mix of cozy round booths on the perimeter and longer central tables. The service is intuitive and friendly. Almost everything on the menu is delicious and crave-able. There is a huge selection of fish and seafood which can be prepared by virtually any method you desire. My favorite appetizers are the Avra chips and octopus. No visit is complete without the chopped green salad. The hamachi and salmon crudo were good but the portion was small - skip this unless you're craving sashimi. For mains the Branzino is a go to. The lamb chops are also great quality and well prepared. This time I tried the Carabineros (scarlet prawns) and it's safe to say I will be ordering these sweet and tender shrimp again. I have to give a bid to the cocktails as well as they were expertly mixed. Finally, I'm not actually a huge fan of most of the dessert options, but the olive oil cake is moist and the sweetness is just right. The chocolate and pistachio ice creams were also excellent - they are not your typical ice cream parlor flavors. Overall, AVRA Miami serves up a consistently great experience in a beautiful and upscale setting making it a staple for a nice dinner out.
At Avra, you're in for a delightful journey into traditional Greek cuisine. What truly sets them apart is their wide selection of fresh fish and diverse cooking methods, consistently delivering exceptional flavors. A special mention goes to the Portuguese sardines; they tend to fly off the menu, so grab them if available - you won't regret it. The caviar and oysters are simply exquisite, and they offer a well-curated selection of wines and cocktails. While the lobster pasta sounded promising, it didn't quite live up to expectations; it was nothing special. Now, let's talk dessert - Avra's cheesecake is, without a doubt, the best I've ever had. What truly elevates the Avra experience is its ambiance; the restaurant's space is thoughtfully designed to create the perfect dining atmosphere. Whether you choose to enjoy the sunset outdoors or opt for an indoor setting for a later dinner, Avra ensures a memorable dining experience. #bubblytip: If dining around the sunset timeframe, try to get seated outdoors -- you won't regret it
The restaurant is very beautiful and we decided to go for the Miami Spice dinner menu. They start you off with a tiny portion of olives, hummus and radish and toasted fresh bread, that you can have with their delicious olive oil stationed inside every table. From their Miami Spice Menu, I got the ceviche as the appetizer and it was delicious. The fish was very fresh, and so was my second course which was the Branzino. My friends and I agreed that it didn't have much of a flavor and I wish they would've added a yellow lemon wedge to add a little to bring out the flavors. The fish itself was soft and good but not much seasoning. For dessert I asked the waiter for recommendations and he said the Olive oil cake was good. It really wasn't, which is why I removed a star. The orange cake my friend got was wayyy more flavorful. Service was also a little spotty and for a high end place like that, I expected excellent service. We also got a virgin mojito each and with tax and gratuity it was $100 each.
Great date night spot! Tried their Miami spice menu and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was also spot on ( a rarity for Miami). I mentioned in my reservation that I was celebrating a special event and also pregnant but did not call to remind the restaurant the day off. To my Surprise they actually had it noted and offered mocktail selections Upon arrival and brought out a celebratory cake at the end of the meal. There are so many times I have made notes in a reservation and even reminded them upon arrival just for them to forget, so I was really impressed by this. The beautiful ambiance and lobster pasta were also key in making this a 5 star experience. The only improvements would be cheaper parking options. It's a pretty expensive restaurant so having to pay an additional $15 to support their venue seems a bit much.
